Firefox also has the advantage of cross platform acceptance and widespread use. Chrome has yet to be ported officially to Mac (officially as in Chromium doesn't count) and currently doesn't even have a linux port, which is all the more ironic because ChromeOS is built on linux, is it not?

I tend to use 64 bit Safari these days because it tends to load up and do things just a tad quicker than Firefox. However, I have run into situations where something isn't working on Safari and is handled just fine by Firefox. The most alarming instance of this is trying to make changes to my linksys control panel, which is browser based. Safari loads the pages fine but error messages abound when I try to change anything. I literally NEED firefox to administer is, which is downright ridiculous. I don't know whether to blame Safari or Linksys. Probably Safari is the feeling I get.

Right now, Firefox is an invaluable fallback browser for me.
