Flying pelicans in the Yellowstone River

    Pelican in the Yellowstone River

Driving around Yellowstone National Park, we had already gotten in a lot that day, winding around the Grand Loop and visiting Canyon Lodge. Pelican Creek sounded like a good place to visit as we neared our return to the Lake Yellowstone/bear country area in the southeast of the park–and as it turned out it […]

    Mother duck shading her babies

This picture comes from Jessica. She captured this amazing Mom and baby ducklings shot at Disneyland last weekend.

    Yellowstone and Grand Teton album

The “Yellowstone and Grand Tetons Adventure” album is up now on Webshots, with many great photos including these three: the Grand Teton, a herd of buffalo, and me and Jessica in front of some blue Montana mountains.

Buffalo at Yellowstone in a field

Buffalo on the road at dusk

This is one of my absolute favorite photos from Yellowstone. He’ll cross the road when it suits him!

    Up close with the animals

Yellowstone allows face-to-face contact with beautiful wildlife, as this picture demonstrates.

    A beautiful trip

Jessica and I took an amazing vacation, driving all the way from San Francisco to Yellowstone National Park and back. Along the way we met up with my family, and on the way back we went through Grand Teton National Park as well. We’ll be posting some of the pictures of those […]

These are some companion photos to podcast #5.

    Pictures of Mountain Lake Park

We really love Mountain Lake Park–and though this nighttime picture offers just an impression of a mysterious lagoon with Highway 1 in the background, these other pictures give a sense of the beauty and views of wildlife that the park offers.

This amazing photo comes to us via Webshots.

    Sushi in the Richmond

Jessica and I had a nice night out walking and getting sushi. It was a new place for us: Sakana Bune in San Francisco.   Before our dinner we walked around Baker Beach, and on the way out there I took a photo […]

    Japanese Garden Fish

Colorful fish swim all around one another with turtles and ducks (the ducks are actually in the wings of this photo–they’re visible in this picture from the same pond) looking for their share of the fodder for themselves.

Slideshow - wine on Friday night

(photo here - follow ‘view show’ link for the other photos)
I was taking a handful of photos in groups, with the pretense for doing it being that I wanted to put up some slide shows on the web and I’d heard a lot about the online photo services lately, some of which I hadn’t tried […]

Sunny day for the Street Faire

We checked out the “Howard/How Weird Street Faire” today in SoMa.  Different stages were set up with DJs.  I enjoyed the psy-trance music section, and then Jessica and I hung out in the sun next to the breakdancing floor–it was really festive, but the heat was intense–an extremely sunny, hot day for San Francisco.

    It won’t […]
